Here’s a sample of my writing…

Beyond the pines, there was a sense of, no, an anticipation of death. A hunger waited for him that could not be quenched by anything or anyone else. Navole pulled his pack tighter before stepping through the murky swampland. The setting sun was bronze against the mountains, it didn’t matter that gold lay beneath them. He’d given up that quest, instead focusing on trying to survive which became bleaker by the second. A wind rushed through him, a subtle reminder that the cold night should not be taken lightly. He wouldn’t survive it if he didn’t find shelter soon. But was the hut he saw in the distance one of safety or one that would bring his short and pathetic life to an abrupt end. He soldiered on, knowing it was his only choice.
